White County’s Kylie Norvell Signs With Belmont Softball

By Michael Lindsay

White County High School senior Kylie Norvell made her college softball plans official Wednesday morning as she signed with Belmont University, a Division 1 program in Nashville competing in the Missouri Valley Conference.

“It’s so exciting,” said Norvell. “I’m so happy I’m finally officially a Bruin. I love the community at Belmont; it’s very Christ-centered and that’s what I wanted in a college.”

Norvell is the reigning two-time District 7-3A offensive MVP and is a three-year all-district and all-district tournament selection.

“This is such an awesome day,” said White County head softball coach Jerry Roberts. “Any time you can coach a player of Kylie’s standard and see her go onto the next level is special. What an awesome accomplishment for her; all the tears and sweat that kid has put in for softball is amazing. She deserves every bit of this.”

Norvell has her senior season with the Warriorettes ahead of her before moving on to Nashville and the Lady Bruins.

“I’ve had so many friends and family that have helped push me to where I am,” said Norvell. “It’s so special that everybody showed up today.”
