Jacob: 99-21

Justin: 98-22

Noah: 96-24

Goose: 97-23

Guests: 97-23

This week’s guest picker is Ian Mahan, owner of Ian Mahan Media. Ian is a graduate of DeKalb County High School and currently lives in Crossville. Ian’s professional sports photo & video work has millions of views across his TikTok Instagram and Facebook channels. Ian can be found on sidelines across the Upper Cumberland and beyond this season.

Alcoa (10-1) at Upperman (9-2) (Mayberry’s GOTW On UCR)

Noah: Upperman 35-28

This should be a game of the year contender in Baxter. Bronzden Chaffin puts on the cape as the Bees earn the best home win of the Adam Caine era, and end Alcoa’s 51 game postseason winning streak.

Jacob: Alcoa 35-28

What a game we get in round two of the playoffs. Upperman has maybe their best team under coach Caine led by their Mr. Football candidate Bronzden Chaffin and Alcoa have one as well with Thomas Manu on the other side. Alcoa has not lost a playoff game in 51 tries, but haven’t faced a team like Upperman in the second round in a very long time. I think the Bees are ready, but Alcoa gets a late score to win a tremendous football game.

Justin: Alcoa 31-30

Although the path to a good ball is going to be harder in 4A than it is in 3A, Alcoa gets a hard fought one part win here. Brondzen Chaffin, Colton Johnson, Carmine Phillips, and

Goose: Alcoa 49-28

If there’s a better second-round matchup in Tennessee, I’d love to see it. The 10-time defending Class 3A state champion Alcoa Tornadoes will face potentially their toughest Class 4A game yet as they travel to Baxter in an elimination game. This Tornado squad showed they’re at least human with a loss at Anderson County two weeks ago, but they’re still Alcoa with multiple Division 1 Prospects across the board.

Ian: Upperman 34-28

Betting against the 10x consecutive Champions may make me look a little wild, but this year has some implications. We already seen an Anderson County loss, and yes, I understand that’s probably a once in a lifetime loss. If we take a look at Stone Memorial vs Anderson County, tell me that Stone can’t win that matchup. Crazy to think? No. So why can’t Upperman, who beat Stone in a matchup this year by putting up 40 points, can’t beat Alcoa? I think this is the game of the year.

Stone Memorial (10-1) at Anderson County (8-2)

Noah: Stone Memorial 42-35

Firstly, I’ve got to pick up a game on these guys so it’s time to start taking some big swings, secondly I like Stone’s chances if they can turn this thing into a shootout. Noah Potter and Kadyn Page connect on 3 TD passes as the Panthers shock the world.

Jacob: Anderson County 42-35

This should be a really fun game to watch tonight as well with two high powered offenses. Anderson County defensively will allow some points and Stone has more than enough power of the offensive side to oblige. I think the home field advantage for the Mavericks will be big in this one and they squeak it out by a score.

Justin: Anderson County 35-31

Anderson County has one of the best home field advantages in all of Tennessee, and it’ll be on full display Friday night in Clinton. Stone Memorial can definitely win this game, but I’ll take the Mavericks at home in a thriller.

Goose: Anderson County 38-21

Stone Memorial hits the road to a red-hot and finally healthy Anderson County squad, who is only two weeks removed from beating Alcoa. The Panthers will have their work cut out for them in Clinton against one of the state’s best Class 4A teams.

Ian: Stone Memorial 42-38

When we look at the run that Stone has had this year under Samber and the high powered offense, I don’t see the Panthers walking away from this one in defeat, but rather in fashion. Noah Potter with the duo of Dylan Phillips and Kadyn Page will shock a lot of people down in ole Anderson. Give me the Panthers.

Oneida (6-5) at Gordonsville (11-0)

Noah: Gordonsville 35-14

The Tigers are rolling on all cylinders right now and I have them as a heavy favorite in this one too. The only concern I have is this being a potential “look ahead” spot, but the Tigers consistency gives me confidence they will get it done again.

Jacob: Gordonsville 28-14

The Tigers are the lone remaining undefeated team across the Upper Cumberland and I think that continues tonight against the Indians. The Tigers are so multiple offensively and can hurt you in so many ways. I think Gordonsville handles business and sets up a date with the defending champs next week.

Justin: Gordonsville 31-10

It’s a magical season in Gordonsville, and I don’t see that ending this week against Oneida. The Tigers have been firing on all cylinders and I’ll take them to continue the run.

Goose: Gordonsville 28-7

Gordonsville welcomes the Oneida Indians in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs, and the Tigers should be a heavy favorite against an Indians squad rolling in off a 36-7 win in the first round. Gordonsville’s versatility on offense has been getting the headlines, but look for the Tigers’ defense to stand strong in this one.

Ian: Gordonsville 42-10

I had the opportunity to see Oneida play earlier this season. With that being said, I don’t think they can survive the Tigers. When we take a look at Gordonsville versatility on on both sides of the ball, there’s no chance they keep up with the Tigers. Onedia features a decent pass game and some decent size on the Line, but the athleticism from the Tigers outlast the Indians.

Midway (8-3) at Clay County (10-1)

Noah: Clay County 28-13

This is a sneaky good matchup with Midway being underrated, but the Dogs are at home and are on a mission. I’ll take Bruce Lamb’s squad to reach yet another quarterfinal.

Jacob: Clay County 28-14

The Bulldogs are back in the second round and playing their best football of the season. Coach Lamb has them clicking on cylinders running the football and have been stout defensively this back part of the season. Give me the Bulldogs to make the quarters yet again.

Justin: Clay County 28-17

Bruce Lamb and the boys know how to win in November, and this Clay County squad has gotten better as the year goes on. Midway is better than people think, but Clay County still finds a way to advance to yet another quarterfinal round.

Goose: Clay County 36-28

Scoreboard watching doesn’t tell the story of Clay County’s second-round opponent, Midway. The Green Wave dealt with multiple injuries at key spots early in the season and they suffered some lopsided losses in the process. Midway found their stride late in the year with an upset at then Top-10 Oliver Springs and is riding a 6-game winning streak. With all that said, we’re still talking about a Bruce Lamb-led Clay County team with multiple Adamses in the backfield, so give me the Bulldogs.

Ian: Clay County 34-21

While Midway has hit a decent stride in their schedule, going on an impressive 6 game win streak, I don’t see them outlasting the Bulldog’s smash mouth style of play. Offensively, the Bulldogs will come up HUGE in total yards and points. Clay passes the eye test when looking at their record, but don’t count out the fact that this can be a high scoring game.

White County (8-3) at Greeneville (10-1)

Noah: Greeneville 49-13

I think Greeneville is the favorite in Class 4A right now. Huge up front, explosive speed, and they’re at home. Expect a tremendous effort out of the Warriors who have had a really good season, but ultimately too much Greeneville.

Jacob: Greeneville 42-14

Greeneville may be the best team in the class and have their sights set on Chattanooga. White County looked better last week against Hixson, but did not look good against the one common opponent these two have in Upperman. I like the Green Devils to win handily.

Justin: Greeneville 59-14

Greenville will test Sparta athletically unlike they have been all season. White County’s run heavy offense will find yards hard to come by.

Goose: Greeneville 49-20

The Greene Devils may have the best offense in Class 4A as they average 49.3 points per game and have been held under 30 only once (27) by the defending Class 5A champion Sevier County. White County will have to generate some offense to have a chance in this matchup against the #1-ranked Class 4A team in Tennessee.

Ian: Greeneville 52-14

We’re looking at a Greenville team whose run defense has struggled this year. And even though the Warriors have a great run game, I don’t think this game will go in White County’s favor. When we look at the match-up from Upperman earlier this year, I don’t think this game goes in the favor of the Warriors. The Warriors will have their hands full with the offensive-powered Greene Devils.
