Two Kylie Norvell Homers Lead White County Over Cumberland County, 14-0

By Michael Lindsay

Belmont University signee Kylie Norvell showed off some power Tuesday evening as she hit two home runs to lead White County to a 14-0 win over Cumberland County in District 7-3A play.

Along with Norvell’s two homers, catcher Anna McCulley went 3-3 with a double, an RBI, 2 runs scored and a stolen base. Pitcher Annie Burrier recorded the victory in the circle as she struck out 8 batters while allowing only one hit and one walk in the win.

Norvell opened the contest with a solo homer followed by two-out double from Howell to give the Warriorettes a 2-0 advantage. After a scoreless second, White County’s bats came to life in the top of the third as Burrier hit a bases-clearing triple to the fence to score three runs. The Warriorettes weren’t done there as a Kaylee Sanders grounder and singles by McCulley and Callie Phillips scored a run each to give White County an 8-0 lead after three innings.

The Warriorettes tacked on six runs in the top of the fifth via another Norvell solo homer, a Burrier sacrifice fly and hits by AK Wallace, Miah Jo Swindell and Abbi Hutson to make the final score 14-0 after 6 innings.

Up next for White County is a trip to Stone Memorial on Thursday while Cumberland County is scheduled to play at Grundy County.
