The Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats kept their undefeated start to District 7-3A softball play going on Thursday as they won at Upperman, 6-1.
Catcher Kendall Simpson went 3-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs along with Bailey Hutchison going 2-4 with 2 runs scored. Pitcher Calla Pierce earned the win in the circle as she struck out 8 Lady Bees while surrendering 4 hits and no walks.
Livingston scored a run each in the first two innings via wild pitches to take a 2-0 lead. The Lady Wildcats extended their advantage to 4-0 in the top of the fourth via singles by Tatum Pendergrass and Brooklyn Loftis.
Simpson tacked on two more runs for Livingston in the top of the fifth inning via a two-run single to center to give her team a 6-0 lead. Upperman got on the board in the bottom of the sixth via a Haylee McCord double to score Maddie Tinch, making the final score 6-1 in favor of Livingston.
Up next for the Lady Wildcats is a trip to Clay County on Monday while Upperman is scheduled to host Jackson County on Tuesday.
