Conner Hawkins places 7th and Ben Tabor places 13th at the TSSAA State Cross Country Championships at Percy Warner Park
It was a good day for the upper cumberland as two runners from the area earned places on the podium at the TSSAA State Cross Country Championships held at Percy Warner Park in Nashville. Conner Hawkins from CHS placed 7th with a time of 16:04.25 while Ben Tabor from CCHS placed 13th with a time of 16:44.96 in the AAA boys race. The race included 181 runners and 14 teams. The next five area runners included Xavier Findley (SMHS, 16:44.96), Caleb Aikens (CHS, 17:13.29), Michael VanWinkle (SMHS,17:34.42), and Ben Pardue (CHS, 17:36.40).
The AAA girls race included 180 runners and 24 teams. The top area runners included Sydney Tabor (CCHS, 20:26.78), Isabella Dawson (CHS, 20:41.88), Hailey Coudriet (SMHS, 20:56.67), Lauren Tabor (SMHS, 20:57.20), Courtney McCowan (CHS, 21:17.59), and Ifeoma Ikedionwu (CHS, 22:41.97).
Congratulations to the seniors from all three teams on a great race and a great season. Seniors competing in the state races included: Ben Tabor, Ben Bowman, Conner Hawkins, Caleb Aikens, Ben Pardue, Kyle Rusche, Jonathan Dean, Isabella Dawson, Hailey Coudriet, Courtney McCowan, Ifeoma Ikedionwu, Libby Leftwich, and Hannah Hart.
