Year’s final WestSide Scavenger Hunt is March 11

COOKEVILLE – This year’s third and final WestSide Scavenger Hunt is Saturday.

The hunt, presented by Cookeville Leisure Services, begins at the Cookeville Depot Museum, where participants can stop by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to pick up entry forms with thumbnail images and clues leading to several businesses and organizations within walking distance. The goal is to find each image, replicate it with a digital camera or cell phone and then return completed forms to the depot to be entered in a gift basket drawing.

“We want to get people moving and exploring history,” Ashley McKee, Cookeville museums education specialist, said of the fifth annual event. “Come join the fun.”

Participation is free, and the depot will be providing refreshments. The activity attracts families, student groups and more for a fun, educational walk around the historic district.

The Cookeville Depot, which was built in 1909 and is on the National Register of Historic Places, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 116 W. Broad St. Admission is free. To learn more, call 931-528-8570 or visit www.cookevilledepot.com.
