Man Wanted For Homicide Found In Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, T.N., — Troopers locate a man wanted for murder as he was traveling on Interstate 40.

On Jan. 26, Tennessee Highway Patrol pulled over a vehicle around mile marker 302 for traveling at a very fast speed. Troopers say two people were inside the vehicle. While the driver, a female, was being interviewed by the Trooper, officials say the passenger began acting in a strange manner. When it was time for the passenger to be interviewed, the passenger stated that he didn’t have any form of identification present.

According to the report, the Trooper ran both occupants through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). The passenger was positively identified as Desmon WIlliams, 20, of Georgetown, South Carolina. Williams was wanted for the charges of Homicide and Possession of a firearm while committing a violent crime. Williams was transported to Putnam County Sheriff’s Department where he will await extradition.
