Three Local Businesses Close Their Doors

COOKEVILLE, T.N., —  Three local businesses have, as of today, closed their doors permanently.

Many early risers were shocked this morning when arriving at the local Krispy Kreme location on Jefferson Avenue. The chain had closed their doors on account of a “corporate decision.”  Cookeville’s mayor, Ricky Shelton, went to investigate himself about the alleged closing.

Mayor Shelton had this to say, “I drove to the store this morning and a man who identified himself as the Southeast market manager came to the locked door and said it was a “corporate business decision” to close. The City did not receive any notification of the closing. I’m more sad for the employees, our citizens, who were not given a notice or warning. The employees showed up to work this morning and didn’t have a job. The hot sign is off in a very COLD way to their Cookeville employees.”

Another shock,is that two other local businesses have closed their doors as well. Anchor Down on Interstate Drive had a closed sign on their door. After using a search online, Google stated that the establishment is permanently closed.

Jet’s Pizza on Jackson next to Maurice’s clothing, had a sign on their door stating that stated, “To all of our loyal customers, Thank you for visiting our location. Unfortunately, we had to close our doors. Maybe in the future we can try again.”

These businesses were not available for contact at the moment of publishing. We will continue to update as we more information is revealed.
