COOKEVILLE, T.N. — Police say they charged a New York man with raping a child in Cookeville. Investigators say they began investigating a sexual assault complaint in April 2016 involving a juvenile victim and 27-year-old Kerry Washington.
After an extensive investigation, evidence was presented to the Putnam County Grand Jury charging Washington with rape of a child.
Washington was transported to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department on March 24th from New York. He is currently being held in jail on a $150,000 bond.
No other details have been released at this time.
