Woman Charged With Bringing Drugs Into Jail

COOKEVILLE, T.N., – A trespassing call at the local Walmart ends with a woman being arrested for allegedly attempting to bring several drugs, including Hydrocodone, into a penal institution.

 

According to reports, Cookeville Police responded to a trespass call at the Walmart on S. Jefferson on Wednesday, March 28. The affiant made contact with Samantha Bailen, 26, who had alleged warrants for violation of probation. Bailen was allegedly asked if she had anything on her person as she was being transported to the Putnam County Justice Center and she answered that she did not, according to a police report.

 

Allegedly, in transport to the jail, Bailen began acting nervous and continued to touch the lower region of her body repeatedly. At the Justice Center, another search was conducted and several controlled substances were found near her groin area in a small container. In the container, according to the report, were 2.5 pills of Vicodin, 3 Alprozolams and .5 of Hydrocodone. Bailen was charged of Introduction of Contraband Into A Penal Facility and Violation of Probation. Her total bond is set at $2,000.
