“During the 5th interchange construction project, one of the Department’s two 30-inch transmission water lines needed to be rerouted. On Tuesday, April 17th this 30-inch line was shut down for relocation. This forced all of the water from the Water Treatment Plant through the one remaining 30-inch water line. The increased velocity through this line has disturbed sediment within the line leading to a slight tint to the water in certain parts of the system.
We regret any inconvenience that this may have caused our customers and are taking steps to minimize the disturbance to the water system during this rerouting project. The rerouted 30-inch water line should be put back into service on Friday, April 20th.
