September Was Record Breaking Month For Residential Building In Putnam County

COOKEVILLE, T.N. — September was a record breaking month for residential building in Putnam County. We had 34 permits for a total of $5.6 million in estimated construction cost. Of those 34 permits, 22 of them were for new single family residential houses. The 5.6 million in construction costs beats the old record of 5 million which was in May of this year.

Comparing the first three months of this fiscal year (July-September) we had 98 permits for 14.1 million estimated construction cost, to last fiscal year (July-September 2017) where we had 79 permits for 9.5 million, that’s a 33% increase in the estimated construction cost and a 19% increase in the number of permits.

Keep in mind these numbers cover only the unincorporated areas of the county, not inside the cities of Algood, Baxter, Cookeville or Monterey.

The building boom continues!!
