The free holiday concert, presented by the Cookeville Community Band, begins at 3 p.m. at 10 E. Broad St.

“This annual concert is a great way for the community to kick off the holiday season,” Chad McDonald, Cookeville Leisure Services cultural arts superintendent, said. “Join us at CPAC for some great music that will put you in a merry mood.”

Musical selections include “Fanfare and Processional on an Old English Carol,” “Huron Indian Carol,” “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “The Bells of Christmas,” “Fantasy on Coventry Carol,” “A Calypso Christmas,” “Three Noels,” “Stille, Stille, Stille,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Greensleeves” and “A Christmas Festival.”

Carroll Gotcher of the Community Band will conduct the program.

“The audience can expect a widely varied concert of Christmas selections from all over the world, from many historical time periods, and with diverse musical styles,” Gotcher said.

Community Band members consist of school band directors, college professors, college and high school students and local musicians, both active and retired, from the Upper Cumberland area.
