LOCAL TICKET BLITZ CELEBRATES BLUECROSS BOWL ANNIVERSARY
Ticket Sales Encouraged to Support 10 Years of Hosting Privileges
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Ten years, ten tickets, ten dollars … That’s the idea the local BlueCross Bowl Steering Committee is encouraging among local businesses in Putnam County and the Upper Cumberland region. Set for Nov. 29 through Dec. 1, TSSAA’s high school football championships will bring 18 teams along with coaches, cheer teams, bands, and of course, fans to Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium in Cookeville for three days and nine games.
“As we celebrate the tenth anniversary of our community having the privilege to host these student athletes, their coaches, families and fans, we ask our locals to show their support by purchasing tickets to the games,” said local BlueCross Bowl Steering Committee Chair Mark Wilson.
“It’s our hospitality that makes hosting in Cookeville at Tennessee Tech so special. If we pack Tucker Stadium with local fans, that’s an added hospitality like no other.”
Tickets are $12 each, granting one day admission, but can be purchased for a discount at only $10 each when buying ten or more. Each ticket offers access to three games per day.
“We have several local businesses that are buying tickets for their staff members, clients, etc. as a gesture of appreciation,” said Sales Committee Chair Brandon Parrish. “Aside from supporting an event that makes a huge economic impact in our community, it also offers something fun to do for an affordable price.”
“Having hosted the games since 2009, this will mark our tenth anniversary of BlueCross Bowl in Cookeville,” added Parrish. “We invite area businesses and industries to celebrate ten years by buying ten tickets at ten dollars each.”
In addition to seeing the best-of-the-best battle it out on the field, attendees will experience an elevated fan experience with Tennessee Tech’s recent addition of a state-of-the-art videoboard offering nearly 3,400 square feet of video space to take the championship atmosphere to a new level at Tucker Stadium.
An estimated 30-40,000 guests will visit the city of Cookeville and the Tennessee Tech campus for the championships, generating an estimated $2.5 to 3 million dollar economic impact.
Tickets can be purchased at ROADTOCOOKEVILLE.COM or at the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau, located inside the Leslie Town Centre (1 W. First Street, Cookeville, TN 38501).

TSSAA’s BlueCross Bowl in Cookeville is a combined effort between the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau, City of Cookeville, Putnam County, and Tennessee Tech University.
