Cookeville Woman Arrested For Kicking Officers

COOKEVILLE, TN — A woman found intoxicated and in violation of her bond conditions was placed under arrest when she began fighting against the police.

On January 1st, Amethyst Camp, 28, made contact with the Cookeville Police while officers were investigating a domestic assault. According to the warrant, Camp had red watery eyes and an odor about her that the officer associated with an alcoholic beverage.

According to reports, Camp was arrested in January 2018 for domestic assault and upon her release she was given bond conditions that prohibited her from consuming alcohol.

When officers informed Camp she was being placed under arrest, she was stated as being combative and refused to cooperate. When officers placed Camp in handcuffs and attempted to place her in the law enforcement vehicle she kicked one of the officers.

Camp is charged with Assault, Public Intoxication, Resisting Arrest and Violation of Bond Conditions. Total bond is set at $2,448.

Amber Roberts, 44, of Cookeville was charged with Domestic Assault. Total bond is set at $500.

Shawn Keller, 43, of Cookeville was charged with Domestic Assault. Total bond is set at $500.

Cody Martinez, 19, of Murfreesboro was charged with D.U.I. Total bond is set at $1,500.

Brian Hartbarger, 36, of Cookeville was charged with D.U.I. and Possession of a Handgun While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance. Total bond is set at $2,000.
