Flooding Increases Difficulties For Services Emergency Services

JACKSON COUNTY, TN —  Flooding continues to cause issues for not  only residents, but also for emergency services.

Due to the amount of rain we have received, there have been multiple road closures, standing water, and many other issues. As rain continues, we want to inform inform the public that the response to certain locations may be delayed due to the weather and roadway conditions, but assure you that responses will continue to be as quick as safely possible.

As of right now, Gladdice Highway is currently closed from the Granville Highway intersection to Free State Road, which is increasing response times from most agencies to the Gladdice community.

In the past few days, road closures have included Dodson Branch Highway, Roaring River Road, Blackburn Fork Road, Fort Blount Ferry Road, Spring Creek Road and Aaron Branch Road. These closures have also slowed responses to the Dodson Branch Community.

“We want to ensure everyone we are doing our very best to maintain open roadways and response paths to continue to provide adequate and swift responses to our resident’s calls,” said Keith Bean, Jackson County EMA Director.

As the rain continues, we ask that residents use caution while traveling, being sure to watch for standing water or flooded roadways. We are constantly monitoring water and roadways, but can always use the public’s assistance.

You may contact Jackson County Dispatch at (931) 268-6133 to report flooding or roadway issues.
