We hope everyone has had a wonderful week and ready for a busy weekend ahead! This weekend is the Spring Dale Hollow Bass Classic at Sunset Marina & Resort. If you are not fishing, we invite you to come watch as the anglers blast-off and return each day. The Farm at East Port Marina will host their big spring Open House on Sunday, March 31st. Everyone is invited to attend. Details are in the link. Sunday afternoon, Serenity Salon & Boutique will be visited by Minnie Mouse who will be available for pictures! Stop by and say “hi”!
Tuesday, April 2nd, there will be a special Benefit Fish Fry at The Farm at East Port Marina to help out local fishing teams. Brush Pile Fishing will be up this coming week filming for their show and this is one way they help give back to the community. Get the scoop here!
Wild turkey season opens tomorrow (Saturday, March 30, 2019). Moodyville Cash Store will be hosting a Southern Bred Huntsmen 2nd Annual Turkey Contest on Saturday, April 6th. Details here.
We would like to welcome our newest member: Owen’s Motor Sports. They are located next to Dale Hollow Shell at 1160 Hwy. 111, Byrdstown, TN. Give them a call at (931) 265-4443 or visit them on Facebook at Owen’s Motor Sports or on the web.
Byrdstown Medical Center has also announced that they will be partnering with Eye Centers of Tennessee. Dr. Heather Brown-Conner, OD will be seeing patients on Thursdays beginning April 4th.
Remember, there will be LIVE music at the Dixie Cafe on Friday & Saturday nights and on Saturday night at the Country Kitchen. The Pickett County Library is great free resource anytime of year. They have loads of books, videos, cd’s, and so much more. Their Genealogy Room is also a good place to go and get to know where you came from. If it weren’t for our ancestors’ hard work, we wouldn’t enjoy the life we have today. The Cordell Hull Birthplace & Museum State Park has a fantastic exhibit as well as a very nice trail to be enjoyed year round.
Against the Flow Kayak Outfitters can set you up with a nice Kayak or offer you a tour. Our area marinas have a variety of water sport activities to offer and a whole lot more. Find them here!
