Saturday, July 27
8:30am: Morning Flow Yoga
In this workshop, Norma will teach a sequence of poses to help you reduce stress while developing
flexibility and strength. No previous experience is required and all fitness levels are encouraged. If
you’re not flexible, don’t worry! She’ll teach modified versions of each pose to help you get the most
out of the session at your own pace and level.
Dress for movement in comfy clothes, and bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. If you don’t have a
yoga mat, you can purchase one for as little as $8 at Walmart. We also have a limited number of
loaner mats at the park that can be reserved. Norma Mitchell Is a certified yoga instructor and has a
yoga studio in Byrdstown called Stay Bendy at The Studio. This class is $10 per person.

9:30am: Absolute Beginner’s Fiddle Workshop
This workshop is aimed at absolute beginners and those who have had a few lessons in the past but
need a solid review of fundamentals. You’ll need to come with an instrument in playable condition. If
you have questions about whether your fiddle is fit, or if you need some help finding one, contact the
program leader.
Workshop participants will learn the basics, including instrument care, tuning, posture, bow hold,
fingering, scales, active listening, learning by ear, and more. No matter what kind of fiddle music
you’re interested in, the fundamentals are the same!
No previous experience is required. This workshop is aimed at the adult learner’s attention span, but
kids 12 and older are welcome.
The workshop will be taught by Park Ranger Marcianne O’Day. Marcianne learned to fiddle from her
grandfather, starting at the age of seven. She has a minor in Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country
Music from ETSU, was a founding member of the ETSU Celtic Band, has toured Scotland and
Ireland, and has been teaching for ten years. She performs across the Southeast with Irish
Traditional Band Sigean and enjoys traditional music in many forms.

7:30pm: Movie in the Park
Come to the park and enjoy a fun Back to School Bash sponsored by the Friends of Cordell Hull! We
are having an outside screening of Zootopia! Admission is free, but there will be popcorn, drinks and
& mores for a small fee!
Be sure to bring your own seating, like a lawn chair or a blanket!
You’re welcome to show up around 7:30 p.m. to find your seat and get concessions. The show will
start when the sun goes down.
In the case of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled to the following Saturday, August
3rd, at the same time.

Sunday, July 28
1:00pm: Old Fashioned Homemade Ice Cream
Come by the park and learn about the art of making ice cream. Every Sunday for the month of July
we will be making a new flavor. At the end of the month, we will be giving visitors a chance to vote
on their favorite flavor ice cream. This Sunday we will be making pineapple flavored ice cream. We
will meet in the park office.
