Cookeville Man Calls Police To Get Guest Out Of His House

 

COOKEVILLE, TN — One man calls the police to report a break in at his home. When police arrive to detain the potential suspect, the owner is arrested for making false reports. 

 

Cookeville Police responded to a call about a burglary in progress on N. Dixie Avenue after the resident, Damen Andrews, 38, called to report a black man had broken into the home and was still in the residence. When police arrived, they found a man in the home but he claimed that Andrews had invited him to stay.

 

After a discussion with neighbors, who also claimed that the suspected burglar had been staying with Andrews for several days. Andrewa then admitted that he had just wanted the other man out of his home. According to the warrant, police noticed that Andrews was behaving erratically, had dilated pupils and was having trouble completing his sentences. When confronted, Andrews admitted to using Meth earlier.

 

Andrews was charged with False Reports and Public Intoxication. Total bond is set at $5,248
