COOKEVILLE, TN – WCTE Upper Cumberland PBS will host five paper lantern workshops
in August and September. Workshops are geared towards families, but can also make
for a creative date night. The communities are invited to show off their paper lanterns
at the 2 nd Annual Glow Parade scheduled for September 6 at 7:30 PM on the Cookeville
Square.
The lantern workshops will be held at the Putnam County Library, Wednesday, August
7 in the Children’s Library from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Another workshop will be hosted by the
Millard Oakley Public Library on Thursday, August 29 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and your
last chance to decorate a paper lantern with WCTE before the 2 nd Annual Glow Parade
will be at Bryan Symphony Orchestra’s Arts in the Park event on Sunday, September 1
from 2:00 – 3:30 in Dogwood Park. Lantern kits and art supplies will be provided.

Red Silo Brewery in Cookeville is hosting two Lanterns and Libations date night events.
These events are on Tuesday, August 13 and August 27. Both are from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Lantern kits are free at the Library and Dogwood Park events, but cost $5 at the two Red
Silo events. The Red Silo events do not require prior registration, but supplies are
limited so come early! Beer is sold separately. Show off your decorated lantern when
you walk in the 2 nd Annual Glow Parade Friday, September 6 at 7:30 PM. You don’t
have to have a paper lantern to participate, but you must be glowing! The parade will
start at the corner of Broad St. and Jefferson Ave. You can get a map of the parade route
