What’s Happening In Pickett County

It’s a hot forecast with little rain chance, so that means the full moon this weekend should be spectacular. It will be a good time for the Pickett County High School Homecoming tonight and the Relay for Life event on Saturday evening.

It is Fish FRYday (starting at 11AM this morning) at Forbus General Store, the Dixie Cafe will have live music tonight as well. On Saturday night the Dixie Cafe and the Country Kitchen will have live music. You can find a list of other area eateries here- check them out soon! Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park has several programs coming up. (Cordell Hull Day is coming up on September 28th! Check the link for details.) September 21 is the 27th Annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival at BSFNNRA. Details here. The Charity Catfish Tournament (Sept. 27-28) is open to all – and so is the FISH FRY to follow that has some really nice door prizes – plan to attend!
