Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s out there. Given the weather forecast, everyone take care of your tender vegetation out there and your animals if you have either. It’s supposed to get really cold overnight this weekend. So far, so good seems with the businesses beginning to open back up. Please follow the guidelines and stay well. Here is a link for you to go read the most current information. Tennessee State Parks are re-opening. Some small classes are to be held at Cordell Hull in the coming weeks. Check their calendar. As always, support local businesses. Carry-out services at local restaurants and many stores are offering walk in customers with pick-up available for those that don’t want to come in. Links for our businesses can be found here. Be sure to support our small businesses during this trying time (and always, but especially now). Think local when letting Mom know she is appreciated this weekend.

Our restaurants are ready to serve you. Some are still carry out only. Others are offering dine in with the recommended guidelines in place. The Farmhouse Restaurant has a new Meat & 1, 2, or 3 or a little of everything plate in addition to their regular menu items. Rustic Roots Boutique has more exciting news this week! They are expanding (Rustic Roots Boutique Expansion) with a unique line of Memorial Day flowers, saddles, wreathes and wind chimes (and more) so much so that they have rented another building! They will be in the old bank building across the street from the Dixie Cafe. Stop by (pop-up hours) or contact Rustic Roots Boutique to arrange a time to shop. East Port Marina’s In Water Kayak, Padddleboard and Alumicraft Boat Show is tomorrow – May 9th. Be sure to check that out this weekend! Obey River Grill will have Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday – but you need reservations so get those in nowSells Family Store has re-opened with new hours: M, T, T, F from 10-6 and Saturdays from 10-2 – unless the Grandchildren are visiting and then they will close. 🙂

Stonecom is doing something special for the 2020 Graduates! Please visit the press release here for more information – be sure to click through for the second page. PCHS has also worked out a plan with the local Health Department to have a small Graduation Ceremony for the Seniors.

We will have our May Chamber Board of Directors Meeting on May 14 at 11AM at the Dixie Cafe.

The Backyard Grill will open on May 13th. Check out their menu! The Whistle Stop Tavern will re-open on May 15th.
