Happy Independence Day! Byrdstown-Pickett County Update June 26, 2020

Happy Independence Day!
Forward to a Friend

Greetings!

This is the last weekend before the 4th of July. We will be closed next Friday and Saturday in observance and will not be sending out a newsletter next week. Other offices in town will be closed as well. Be sure to remember to watch the fireworks downtown on Saturday. All the fun and games have been postponed until the Saturday before Labor Day (at this time). Everyone have a safe and enjoyable holiday with your family – and stay healthy. B & K Grocery has their fireworks stand open, so stop in and get your fireworks early. Also, for those that do not know, they have lunch meat in the cooler behind the meat counter. The list of items and prices is on the wall in the butcher shop. All you have to do is let them know what you would like and how you want it cut (thick, thin, etc.). The roast beef is some of the best I have ever enjoyed.

Please be sure to read to the bottom of this email. We have shared a couple of Ribbon Cuttings for your enjoyment that you may have missed last week. For those interested, to our knowledge, no one plans to be at the Farmers Market this weekend; however, next weekend, Sue and Lucy both plan to be back with their products and hopefully Steve Reagan will be here with produce (no promises on that one just yet. Keep a watch on Facebook and we will try to let you know when we know.)

This weekend, Pickett Care & Rehab will be having a Family Community Car Parade (tonight) Friday, June 26 at 6PM. Live music at the Dixie Cafe on Friday night. The Obey River Grill at East Port Marina has started a Friday evening Brain Blast Trivia contest, plus they will have live music on Saturday at 3PM. The Backyard Grill will be having Karaoke Night on June 27th – details hereBald Rock Package will have live music on Saturday. Plus there are several other wonderful places to grab a bite to eat in the area. You can find our members here: www.dalehollow.com/dine. In addition, Tennessee State Parks are open. Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park is having several events/workshops as is Sgt. York Park. Check the Cordell Hull calendar here and the Sgt. York park here. If you have a project you need to do this summer, Valspar paint has a rebate going on right now at Country Farm and Home Center, plus they have all sorts of lawn and garden, farm, and some lake toys too.

We hope to resume the Business of the Week program SOON, BUT WE NEED YOUR INPUT!!! If you are a Chamber Member and have not done so yet, please, please, please fill out our survey – you can access it hereIF YOU DO NOT SEND IN THE SURVEY, YOU WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE GROUP THAT THE COMMITTEE WILL CHOOSE FROM. Also, if any business is following the Tennessee Pledge rules and would like a poster to put up, OR OTHER ITEMS, stop by our office and let us know.
