The Cookeville Lady Cavs got an early goal, but ultimately fell short as they were defeated by McMinn County 3-1 in the Region 3/AAA championship game.
The Lady Cavs season will continue Saturday when they travel to Smyrna to take on Stewarts Creek, with the winner advancing to the state tournament.
