Happy Mothers Day! Cherish the Moms in your life. Remember, there are plenty of wonderful gift options locally. Obey River Grill has a Mother’s Day Brunch posted. Live music tonight and Saturday night at the Dixie Cafe. Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park has a variety of workshops on the horizon. Space is limited so you need to register for the one(s) you are planning to attend! Click on over and check them out and sign up.
Great news! The Senior Center will reopen on May 10! They will be open from 8AM-4:30PM. Our May Chamber Board of Directors Meeting will be this coming Thursday, May 13 at 11AM at The Country Kitchen. Saturday, May 15th is Spring Clean-Up Day in Pickett County. Volunteers are requested to help clean up the County. Free Trash bags are available on Friday at the County Executive’s Office. Call (931) 864-3798 for details. That day will also be FREE Dump Day. They will be open from 7AM-3PM on Saturday. Household waste ONLY!
The GNT Fashion Show and Tea Party is May 16 at 2PM. This will be an outside event at the Byrdstown Activities Park across from Town Hall. Clothing from 6 Boutiques from Pickett and surrounding counties will display the products on 60+ models during the event. Chairs will be draped white tied with lavender bows. Prizes will be given away throughout the event. Good Neighbors Theatre (beneficiary of the event) will be providing cookies and tea. There will be sales booths after the show from the boutiques and from K & S Lavender Farms. Tickets are $10.00 per person and can be purchased at the Welcome Center in advance.
