Cookeville Track And Field Sweeps Final Regular Season Meet

The Cookeville Cavalier Track and Field teams swept their final meet of the regular season, one that featured Upper Cumberland schools in Warren County, White County and Upperman, as well as White House and Oakland.

On the boys side of things, Cookeville finished the meet with 235 points. Oakland came in second with 185 points of their own, and White County finished in third place with 90 points.

White County’s Jakeb Davis shined individually for Sparta, as Davis finished in first-place overall in the triple jump with a long of 39-5.25. He also finished with a 6-02 jump in the high jump competition.

Cookeville’s Clayton Barrett finished first overall in the Discus Throw, as his finish with a mark of 136-8. Barrett was also the top finisher in the Shot Put, as he finished with a high of 43-11.

For the girls, Cookeville finished with 247 points in first place, while Oakland came in second with 180 points. White House came in third with 95 points.

Warren County’s Ally Beneke showed out in the High Jump, as she hit a high of 5-6 to finish in first place. Cookeville’s Sarah Smith finished in first place in the Pole Vault with a high of 9-0, and she also finished in first place in the Triple Jump with a best of 30-0.5.
