First Bank Donates To Upperman’s State Championship Campaign

First Bank continued their support of local high school athletics this week by donating to Upperman High School’s post-State Championship campaign.

With it, the Lady Bees are raising money for seasonal accolades and State Championship apparel, something First Bank thought was a good cause to help with.

“They were raising money for postseason awards for the State Championship,” said Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager Jeremy Tollison. “So, we decided to make a donation to assist them in their campaign.”

Tollison also mentioned that First Bank’s focus on being community-oriented is something else that played into the company’s decision to give their support to the Lady Bees.

“I’ll be honest with you, especially in the Upper Cumberland market, a big focus of our advertising dollars is in the sports community,” Tollison said. “We support local rec teams, some of the middle and high school teams around here, and it’s really important to us that we spend our marketing dollars wisely. There’s nothing better than to help congratulate the Upperman Lady Bees for winning the State Championship.”

The Lady Bees accomplished something that most kids are only able to dream of, and for that, Tollison says it’s important for the community to continue to show their support for all high school athletics.

“You look back at the Upper Cumberland, how many of them have won State Championships recently?” Tollison said. “It’s very important to the girls on the team, if the funds are a little short, that the community step up and reward them for some things that most kids dream about.”
