Livingston Academy senior Cora Duke officially put pen to paper on Friday, as she signed her national letter of intent to play golf at the University of Tennessee-Southern.

The amount of people who showed up in support of Duke on Friday was what the senior says really stuck out to her.

“This means so much to see my friends and family supporting me,” Duke said. “I’m so excited for this next chapter of my life.”

Duke says she visited a couple other schools, but she knew from the moment she visited UT-Southern, she felt like she was right where she belonged.

“I did visit some other schools, but the first time I went to UT-Southern, I love the atmosphere,” Duke said. “The campus is small, so it kind of reminded me of home…the faculty will get to know me on a personal level and so will my golf coach.”

As far as her time as Livingston Academy, Duke says she’ll miss her friends for sure, but she’s sure they’ll maintain contact.

“That’s hard to say, but I will definitely miss my friends and the relationships I’ve made here,” Duke said. “I definitely think that will carry on to college with me.”
