The Upperman Bees and Smith County Owls met in Baxter on Tuesday evening for a scrimmage ahead of the regular season beginning in a few weeks.
A spirited, physical contest that was chippy both ways, Smith County set the tone early when they found the end zone twice on a big passing play and a physical run, while Upperman scored their lone varsity touchdown on a pass from new quarterback Ja’Lyric Cullom to Jaxson Bush in the corner of the end zone. The majority of the scrimmage was spent working on situational football including redzone offense and defense.
Upperman’s next scrimmage will be on Thursday when they head to Sparta to take on White County at 6 P.M.
