The Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats saw their season come to an end on Thursday in the Class AA Substate round against East Hamilton 3-0.
LA appeared to get off to a really good start, taking a multiple point lead several times early in the opening set. With the set tied at 8-8 however, East Hamilton reeled off a 17-4 run to close the set and take a 1-0 lead after winning 25-12.
The Lady Wildcats got off to another good start in the second set, as they held an early 3-0 lead. Just like the first set however, East Hamilton came roaring back and quickly took control in a 10-2 run. This ultimately led to a 25-15 set win for the hosts, as they moved within one set of clinching a spot in the Class AA State Tournament.
And clinch a spot in the tournament they did, as East Hamilton jumped out to an 11-3 lead and never looked back in the final set of a 3-0 victory over the Lady Wildcats.
This marks the third consecutive season where Livingston was eliminated in the substate round of postseason play.
