The Frank’s Shootout is underway from Sparta as the York Institute Dragons picked up a 76-46 victory over McMinn Central in the first game of the three-day tournament.
Four Dragons scored double-figures, led by Bryson Bilbrey with 16 points Zach Byrd with 14, Will Beaty scoring 11 and Myles Leffew scoring 10 in the win.
York came out hot, taking a 21-9 lead over the Chargers after one quarter. Bilbrey scored 8 of his 16 in the first period.
McMinn Central stayed alive in the second period as York led 33-24 at halftime.
The Dragons dialed in defensively after halftime, outscoring McMinn Central 18-9 in the third period to lead 51-33 going to the fourth. The Dragons closed strong to win 76-46.
The Dragons improve to 4-6 overall and play East Nashville (6-0) tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2:30 p.m.
