The Macon County Tigerettes saw their season come to an end on Sunday afternoon, as they fell to East Hamilton 7-2 in the Class 3A Sectional round.
Things started off on a good note for the Tigerettes, as a Kenley Roark sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first scored Ellie Coley for an early 1-0 lead.
Coley once again got the start in the circle for Macon, and preserved that lead until East Hamilton scored their first run in the third.
The fourth inning is where things came a unraveled, as the Lady Hurricanes pushed across five runs, capped off by a two-run home run, to take a commanding 6-1 lead.
After added another run in the fifth, East Hamilton took their largest lead of the game at 7-1.
Macy Meador got a run back for the Tigerettes in the bottom of the sixth inning with her RBI double that scored Journey Beasley, but it was too little too late as Macon County’s excellent season came to an end in a 7-2 loss to East Hamilton.
For the game, Coley finished with seven innings pitched, 16 hits and seven runs allowed and one walk with no strikoutes.
Macon County finishes the season with an 18-13 record in the first full season under head coach Jenna Russell.
