Golf season got underway in the Upper Cumberland on Monday, as the Cookeville Cavaliers and Upperman Lady Bees were each victorious in their season-opening matches at Golden Eagle Golf Club.
Brant Kardaztke led the way with a field-leading low of 70, while Owen Hill followed with a 75. Parks Fowler shot a 76, and Ethan Poston rounded out the team with a 79, as Cookeville finished with a combined score of 300 to take down Upperman (340) and White County (366).
On the girls side, the Lady Bees were led by Brianna Herron and Mylie Herron, who each shot a 93 on the day to combine for a team-score of 186. This topped White County (202) and Cookeville (212), as the Lady Bees opened their season in winning fashion.
