Livingston, Stone, DeKalb Golf Open Season at Hidden Valley; Panthers Start Season With Win

The 2023 high school golf season on the Upper Cumberland teed off Monday as Livingston Academy, Stone Memorial and DeKalb County faced off at Hidden Valley Golf and Country Club in Livingston.

Stone Memorial won the boys 18-hole team competition over Livingston 362-389 while DeKalb County only played 9 holes.

Stone Memorial’s Braden Houston shot the day’s lowest 18-hole score at 84, followed by teammate Bryce Elmore at 85.

Tayshawn Hayes led Livingston Academy with an 87.

On the girls side, DeKalb County’s Chloe Boyd won the 9-hole match with a 45, followed by teammates Alison Poss and Emily Anderson shooting a 46. Stone Memorial sophomore Sarah Bass also shot a 46 in her season opener.

Stone Memorial is scheduled to play at Golden Eagle Golf Club on Thursday against Cookeville and Livingston Academy while DeKalb County is set to host Smith County at Smithville Golf Club on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
