The 2023 TSSAA football playoffs kick off Friday evening as 11 area teams have qualified for the postseason including Cookeville, Upperman, Macon County, Stone Memorial, DeKalb County, York Institute, Smith County, Monterey, Gordonsville, Clay County and Red Boiling Springs.
All first-round games are scheduled for 7 p.m. local time unless otherwise noted. Playoff tickets are $8 through GoFan or $10 at the gate.
First-round matchups are as follows:
Class 1A
Sale Creek (7-3) at Clay County (6-4)
Chattanooga Prep (3-7) at Gordonsville (6-4)
Red Boiling Springs (5-5) at Whitwell (7-3)
Class 2A
Eagleton (4-6) at York Institute (10-0)
Forrest (4-6) at Smith County (8-2)
Monterey (5-5) at Fayetteville (5-5)
Class 4A
East Ridge (4-6) at Upperman (10-0)
Loudon (7-3) at Macon County (9-1)
Stone Memorial (6-4) at Hixson (7-3)
DeKalb County (5-5) at Red Bank (7-3)
Class 6A
Siegel (5-5) at Cookeville (7-3)
