Upperman’s Stiles Signs With Campbellsville University

Upperman senior Bella Stiles made her commitment to Campbellsville university official on Monday, as she signed her national letter of intent to play basketball for the Lady Tigers after graduation.

For Stiles, it’s a day she’s been waiting for and one that was worth all the hard work it took to make it happen.

“I’m very excited, I’m just blessed to have this opportunity to play at the next level,” Stiles said. “I can’t wait…I just love the coaching staff, and I think it’s the right fit for me.”

Her current head coach agrees, citing Stiles’ ability to fit in wherever she goes as one of the many bright spots about having her involved in the program.

“We’re super excited for Bella, this is a great opportunity for her,” said UHS head coach Dana McWilliams. “Campbellsville just had a number-one ranking in the nation, so what an accomplishment for Bella…she’s such an easy kid to coach, very coachable. Just a great person inside and out.”

Now that this is out of the way, Stiles can focus on helping the Lady Bees accomplish their goals for the 2023-24 season.

“We’ve still got one more year with Bella, so we’re hoping to have great things happen here,” McWilliams said. “We want great things to happen here, and then we’ll wish her the best at the next level.”

And Stiles agrees, she’s glad to fulfill this commitment now so she can turn her mind towards the season, which begins next week.

“It definitely takes some pressure off, and I feel confident now for the season,” Stiles said. “I’m excited, really looking forward to it.”
