The final two games of Wednesday’s Frank’s Shootout action saw the White County Warriorettes pull away from Ensworth in the second half to defeat the Lady Tigers 57-41 while the York Institute Dragons defeated White County, 59-49.
Celeste Reed led the Warriorettes with 23 points along with 12 by Ava Jones.
Ensworth held a 23-22 halftime lead over the Warriorettes before White County raced out to a 6-point lead midway through the third quarter. Ensworth closed the gap to trail by one point (36-35) entering the fourth quarter.
White County held a 43-39 lead with 6 minutes remaining before the Warriorettes closed the game on a 14-2 run to win by a 57-41 final score.
The Warriorettes improve to 13-0 and will face York Institute (9-2) in the Frank’s Shootout championship Thursday at 5 p.m.
On the boys side, the York Institute Dragons used a strong second half to pull away from White County and earn a 59-49 victory.
Three Dragons hit double figures as Jackson Conatser led York with 19 points along with 12 from Heath Wattenbarger and 11 from Will Beaty.
Lucas Dickerson led White County with 14 points while Cole Sims scored 12.
A pair of Myles Leffew free throws at the end of the first period gave York Institute a 14-12 lead entering the second period.
York took a 22-19 lead into the locker room at halftime before the Dragons opened the second half on a 10-0 run to take a 32-19 lead.
The Dragons led by as many as 17 points (38-21) in the third period before White County battled back in the fourth quarter, cutting their deficit to 10 points at 43-33. York Institute held off the Warriors from there to win by a 59-49 final score.
