Cookeville Boys Basketball Coach Josh Heard Resigns

Fresh off a Class 4A state championship game appearance, the Cookeville Cavaliers will be searching for a new head coach as Joshua Heard resigned on Monday.

Heard coached 5 seasons with the Cavaliers and led them to the program’s first region championship and state championship game appearance in 2024, where they finished runner-up behind champion Independence.

Heard has stepped away from coaching per UCR’s Noah McKay.
