By Michael Lindsay

The national recognition for Gordonsville junior pitcher Kailey Plumlee continues as she was recently named a First-Team All-American by MaxPreps.

Plumlee posted a 0.99 ERA in 149 innings pitched while striking out 359 of the 594 batters she faced (60.4%) in 2024. At the plate, Plumlee had a .551 average her junior season with 22 home runs, 17 doubles, 54 hits and 68 RBIs with a slugging percentage of 1.44 and OPS of 2.1.

The First-Team All-American honor follows Plumlee’s nod as the Gatorade Tennessee Softball Player of the Year in June and her team’s second consecutive TSSAA Class 1A state championship in May.

Plumlee was one of 30 players nationwide named to the first team for her efforts in the 2024 softball season.
