UCR EXPERT PREDICTIONS: Week 9 Presented By TLT Sports Performance

Week 9 2024 Picks

Noah 70-10 (6-1)

Justin 68-12 (5-2)

Goose 66-14 (5-2)

Jacob 66-14 (6-1)

GOTW: Lincoln County (6-1) at Cookeville (6-1)

Noah: Cookeville 28-21

Buckle your chinstraps, this is going to be an old-school football game. For the Cavs it comes down to limiting the run while effectively running themselves. Same keys for Lincoln County. Ultimately, I think Cookeville has the best player on the field and Blake Owen shows it in a Cavalier victory.

Justin: Cookeville 28-14

Cookeville has a huge non-region game tonight and needs to control the line of scrimmage to win this one. Give me the Cavaliers at home and Vols tomorrow, baby.

Jacob: Cookeville 35-21

This will be a good test for the Cavaliers out of the bye. The Cavs needed a week to get some guys back to full health and should be feeling rejuvenated for a non-region match up with the Falcons. Lincoln on film appears to play a very similar style to Cookeville so we’ll see how the Cavs defense pairs up against their offense. I think Cookeville has more talent paired with the long road trip for Lincoln County and the Cavs take care of business.

Goose: Cookeville 28-21

Cookeville hosts a massive non-region game this week against a 6-1 Lincoln County team. Both offenses love to run the football, so winning in the trenches will be key. I’ll take the Cavaliers in a close one.

White House (4-3) at Upperman (7-0)

Noah: Upperman 49-7

Another opportunity for Upperman to win by more than they did last year. White House gave the Bees all they could handle in 2023, but this ain’t 2023. Bees roll.

Justin: Upperman 35-7

Upperman comes out of a bye week a heavy favorite and should take care of business against White House. The biggest challenge today is shaking the rust off after a week away.

Jacob: Upperman 49-6

Bees normally struggle out of the bye, but this group is different this season. White House really struggled in their last game before the bye and the Bees are the best team they will have faced all season. Bees take care of business before going back into region play.

Goose: Upperman 34-0

Upperman comes out of their bye week undefeated with a non-region foe in White House. The Bees’ defense should still be locked in and the offense does enough to get a running clock to secure a victory.

Friendship Christian (5-2) at York Institute (5-2)

Noah: York Institute 21-14

I was so impressed with York last week, and now they get another good test in the Commanders. The Dragon’s ability to stop the run boades well for them here. Look for a nice game out of Logan Pannell.

Justin: Friendship Christian 28-20

A battle of two great rushing attacks goes down tonight in Jamestown as FCS travels to York. FCS has a bowling ball in the backfield named  Car’lando Barton that accounted for 343 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns last week, and he’ll be hard to stop on a cold October night.

Jacob: York Institute 27-24

I think this could be a really fun game. The Dragons have won five in a row and are now really getting tested with a solid Division 2 program in FCS. Last season this was a low-scoring defensive battle with York coming out on top. York has a great running attack, FCS has a great running back. It’ll come down to who’s defense can get that extra stop in the end.

Goose: York Institute 21-7

This is a tougher game to pick with Division II FCS travelling to the Mountain to take on York Institute. The Dragons battled some illness to pick up a victory at Stone Memorial last week, and hopefully will keep it rolling tonight. I like York’s defense to stay dialed in and be the difference.

Smith County (2-6) at Westmoreland (6-1)

Noah: Westmoreland 20-12

Justin: Westmoreland 27-21

Jacob: Westmoreland 35-21

Goose: Westmoreland 27-14

Red Boiling Springs (2-5) at Clay County (5-2)

Noah: Clay County 42-6

Justin: Clay County 48-7

Jacob: Clay County 41-13

Goose: Clay County 49-14
