Snow showers across the Upper Cumberland have affected this week’s high school basketball district tournaments across the area. Updates to the District 5-2A, 7-3A and 7-4A tournaments are as follows:
District 7-1A
The District 7-1A girls tournament semifinals originally scheduled for Thursday (Gordonsville/Pickett County and Clarkrange/Clay County) have been moved to Friday at Livingston Academy.
Clay County/Clarkrange girls will tip off first at 4 p.m. followed by Clay County/Gordonsville boys at 5:30. Pickett County’s girls will face Gordonsville at 7 followed by Pickett County/Clarkrange boys at 8:30.
District 5-2A
Both the boys and girls District 5-2A semifinals will now take place on Saturday at Monterey High School. Girls action will tip off first at 3 p.m. with #1 York vs. #4 Jackson County followed by #2 Smith County vs. #3 Watertown at 4:30. Boys action will follow with #1 Jackson County vs. #4 Watertown at 6 p.m. followed by #2 Smith County vs. #3 York Institute at 7:30.
District 7-3A
The District 7-3A boys and girls tournaments have been postponed until Friday at Cumberland County High School. The boys and girls quarterfinals and semifinals will be on the same day with four games per day on Friday and Saturday. Updated schedule is as follows:
Friday (Quarterfinals):
4 p.m. Girls #3 Cumberland County vs. #6 DeKalb County
5:30 p.m. Boys #3 White County vs. #6 DeKalb County
7 p.m. Girls #4 Livingston vs. #5 Stone Memorial
8:30 p.m. Boys #4 Livingston vs. #5 Cumberland County
Saturday (Semifinals):
4 p.m. Girls #2 Upperman vs. Cumberland/DeKalb winner
5:30 Boys #2 Stone Memorial vs. White/DeKalb winner
7 p.m. Girls #1 White County vs. Livingston/Stone Memorial winner
8:30 Boys #1 Upperman vs. Livingston/Cumberland winner
Monday (Girls Championship):
6 p.m. Girls Consolation
7:30 Girls Championship
Tuesday (Boys Championship):
6 p.m. Boys Consolation
7:30 Boys Championship
District 7-4A
As of 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 19, the District 7-4A tournament is expected to play all quarterfinal games on Friday at Lebanon High School beginning at 4 p.m. with girls first then boys. The tournament will resume its original schedule on Saturday with the girls semifinal games beginning at 2 p.m. with the boys following.
Cookeville’s girls are scheduled to face the winner of Stewarts Creek and Smyrna on Saturday at 3:30 followed by the Cookeville boys facing the Stewarts Creek/Wilson Central winner at 6:30.
