The boys high school basketball region tournament tipped off Saturday evening with the quarterfinal round as 7 area programs earned victories to advance to the semifinal round. Results by classification and Monday’s semifinal opponent are listed below:

 

Class 1A

#1 Pickett County defeated #4 Merrol Hyde, 86-41

#2 Clay County defeated #3 Knowledge Academies, 67-45

#3 Gordonsville won at #2 East Robertson, 62-37

Pickett County will face Gordonsville while Clay County will face Jo Byrns on Tuesday at Livingston Academy.

 

Class 2A

#1 Jackson County defeated Trousdale County, 89-41

Jackson County will face Westmoreland on Tuesday at Monterey while White House Heritage will face Liberty Creek.

Class 3A

#1 Upperman defeated Lawrence County, 58-53

#2 Stone Memorial defeated #3 Marshall County, 67-66

Upperman will face Giles County on Tuesday while Stone Memorial will face Tullahoma.

Class 4A

#1 Cookeville defeated #4 Oakland, 66-54.

Cookeville will face LaVergne on Tuesday at Lebanon.
