The #1-seeded Cookeville Cavaliers opened District 7-4A tournament play Thursday evening at home, where they fell to Stewarts Creek 5-2.
Cookeville will play in the losers’ bracket on Friday at home at 4 p.m. at LaVergne in an elimination game.
