The Gordonsville Tigers are region champions for the second time in three seasons following their 11-1 victory over Trousdale County on Saturday morning.
Gordonsville’s win clinches their third consecutive Class A sectional appearance, where they’ll host South Pittsburg this week in a three-game series with a state tournament berth on the line.
Class A Mr. Baseball finalist Colton Bennett earned the victory on the mound as he struck out 9 batters in the 5-inning contest. Left fielder Sam Ausderau went 2-2 at the plate with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Game dates and times for their Class 1A sectional series against South Pittsburg will be posted when available.
