Week 3 of the UC Top 5 features a new #1 atop the poll as White County claims the top spot. The UC Top 5 is unveiled each week during the regular season during the UCR Football Show Presented by Fire & Vine on Wednesdays.

1. White County (2-0)

The White County Warriors kept their hot start to the season going in week 2 as they defeated York Institute, 53-21. Running back Cole Sims posted 324 rushing yards on 13 carries in the win. The Warriors travel north on Highway 111 this week for an old-school rivalry matchup at Cookeville in the UCR Game of the Week Presented by Mayberry’s Furniture.

2. Macon County (2-0)

Macon County earned a shutout victory in week 2 as they blanked Westmoreland, 37-0. The Tigers hit the road the Greenbrier this week for a non-region contest.

3. Gordonsville (2-0)

Gordonsville improved to 2-o on the season last Friday with a 14-0 win at Watertown. The Tigers host Fayetteville this Friday at Turney Ford Field.

4. Cookeville (1-1)

Cookeville fell to DII-2A power Franklin Road Academy last week, 28-7, and turn their attention this week to a home rivalry matchup against White County in the UCR Game of the Week Presented by Mayberry’s Furniture.

5. Upperman (1-1)

The Upperman Bees fell at home to Greeneville on Friday, 48-14. The Bees look to right the ship this week on the road as they travel to Farragut (0-2) on Friday.

Honorable Mention: Stone Memorial (1-1)

The Stone Memorial Panthers fell in a shootout to Coalfield last week, 41-34. The Panthers are at home this week as they host the “King of the Mountain” showdown against Cumberland County.
