Multiple and Repeat Offenders Sentenced

MARTELL SMITH
Was tried before a jury on September 13, 2018 and convicted of sale of over 0.5 grams of cocaine for
sale/delivery in a school zone, a Class A felony. On Monday, September 29, 2018, a hearing was
held in the Criminal Court for Putnam County for the purpose of determining Smith’s sentence. At
the conclusion of the hearing Judge David Patterson sentenced Martell Smith to 30 years. The first 25
years must be served at 100% pursuant to TCA 39-17-432(c); the remaining 5 years must be served at
35%. Martel Smith was sentenced as a Range II offender meaning that he has a prior felony record
classifying him as a multiple offender.

NICHOLAS RYAN FLOOD
Was tried before a jury on September 11, 2018 and convicted of possession of over 0.5 grams of
cocaine for sale/delivery, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance for sale and possession of
hydrocodone a Schedule III controlled substance. On Monday, September 29, 2018, a hearing was
held in the Criminal Court for Putnam County for the purpose of determining Flood’s sentence. At
the conclusion of the hearing Judge David Patterson sentenced Nicolas Flood to serve an effective
17 years as a Range II multiple offender.

RANDALL LEE ELDRIDGE
On October 30, 2018 before the Putnam County Criminal Court, Randall Eldridge entered a GUILTY
plea to two (2) counts of Burglary, Class D felonies. Eldridge was sentenced to serve 4 years as a
Range II multiple offender. Eldridge also entered a plea of guilty to worthless checks, a class A
misdemeanor and received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days.
