Update: According to new reports, SRO Scott Iles was directing traffic at North Elementary school when a Ford Focus ran over Iles. The Focus was driven by an unnamed 87-year old.
Iles, allegedly hit the windshield of the vehicle and then landed 50 feet in the southbound lane according to a report by THP. Iles’ condition has not been released yet.
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN — While directing school traffic, a school resource officer was hit Tuesday afternoon.
Deputy Sheriff Scott Iles was directing traffic on Highway 127 when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Iles was airlifted to a nearby hospital. The investigation still ongoing.
