DISTRICT CHAMPIONS: Gordonsville Takes Down Trousdale County in 8-1A Title Game, 55-45; Makenzie Herron Named Tournament MVP

The Class 1A #4-ranked Gordonsville Tigerettes (25-4) completed a clean sweep of District 8-1A competition this weekend as they defeated Trousdale County in the district championship game, 55-45.

Gordonsville went unblemished in district play this year with a perfect 8-0 mark in the regular season before defeating Jo Byrns and Trousdale County in the district tournament.

Senior Makenzie Herron was named District 8-1A tournament MVP along with Molly Storie, Derionna Bell, Lily Brock and Lanie Foster making the all-tournament team. Tigerette head coach Terri Brock was also named district coach of the year.

Gordonsville will take the court next in the first round of the Region 4-1A tournament at home on Friday, Feb. 27 against the loser of the District 7-1A consolation game between Clarkrange and Clay County.
