The Stone Memorial Lady Panthers opened the 2026 volleyball regular season with a home win on Monday as they defeated Smith County, 3-1.
“I think we played well, but we definitely had some nerves,” said Stone Memorial head coach Brooklyn Buck. “We’ve definitely seen what we have to work on.”
Stone Memorial won the first two sets by 25-20 and 25-11 margins before Smith County battled back to win the third, 25-22. Stone Memorial closed out the win in the fourth set via a 25-21 victory to open the season 1-0.
“All of my defense played well tonight,” said Buck. “Mia Jones, and Brooke Wilson and Vadyn Bosanko really put up a fight. Lauren Clark always performs well and had a great game tonight.”
Up next for the Lady Panthers is a trip across Crossville to face Cumberland County in District 7-2A competition while Smith County hosts Westmoreland.
