UCR GOTW Presented by Mayberry’s Furniture: Barren County KY (5-2) at Macon County (6-1)
Noah: Barren County 28-21
I’m sorry, Lafayette. Barren County is big and physical, and Macon County struggled the one time they saw that formula against White County. It is tough to get a gauge on these Kentucky teams because we don’t know the competition level, but I do think this will be a good game.
Jacob: Macon County 29-28
This is sure to be a very physical ballgame for two teams who are big and love to run the football. Both teams are coming off of a bye and won games the week prior. Last season, the Tigers handled Barren County on their home turf and I think Barren County would like a little revenge. Give me the Tigers in a close one to start a winning streak.
Goose: Macon County 31-20
Macon County hits the ground running after their bye week with a border battle against Barren County, Kentucky. Both teams play really physical football, and the Tigers found a way to win in enemy territory last season. I think Macon finds a way again this week and protects Pat Parker.
And besides, it’s a football team from Kentucky playing a football team from Tennessee. We all know how that always goes.
Ian: Macon County 30-23
I ain’t got a clue about Barren County, but I’m putting my chips all in on the Tennessee team. Seeing Macon’s win vs Fulton with my own eyes told me everything I need to know. They’re fast, physical and have playmakers all over the field.
Justin: Barren County 24-21
UCR2: Cookeville (2-5) at Farragut (1-6)
Noah: Cookeville 28-0
Cookeville is the better football team and they get a big stretch started with a resounding W.
Jacob: Cookeville 35-0
The schedule sets up very nicely for Cookeville to finish the season the right way. They get a struggling Farragut team out of the bye and then two huge ones in region play they have to win. I expect the Cavaliers to come out on fire tonight and find their third win of the season to build some momentum into next week and beyond.
Goose: Cookeville 35-0
A rested and healthier Cookeville group gets to flex a little this week. This game comes at a great time for the Cavaliers, who have a huge pair of region games following their game at Farragut.
Ian: Cookeville 47-0
Farragut has only scored 27 whole points the whole season, and I don’t see them adding to that total tonight. Cookeville, even in their losses, has shined where the scoreboard doesn’t necessarily show. The most impressive showing was the game against Maryville, as they genuinely held their own despite the score. I think the Cavs have their way with this one
Justin: Cookeville 24-8

Justin: Clay County 17-0
Pickett County (0-7) at Copper Basin (1-6)
Noah: Copper Basin 28-0
Jacob: Copper Basin 35-0

Ian: Pickett County 14-8
Justin: Copper Basin 34-6
